Terms of Trade.

1. House call fee.
All jobs will incur a house call / inspection fee. This fee is charged to help cover business overheads such as advertising, phone, power, vehicle expenses, training courses, insurance, workshop rent etc.

2. Parts and labour.
All completed repairs will include a charge for any parts fitted and labour.

3. Reservation of title.
All parts used will remain the property of The Appliance Doctor Limited until all outstanding charges have been paid in full.

4. Payment terms.
We are not a finance institution and as such are unable to offer credit facilities. All repairs are expected to be paid for in full at the completion of the job, unless alternative arrangements have been made prior to the commencement of the job.

5. Late payment fees.
Overdue accounts may incur an overdue account fee and interest.
Overdue account fee is currently set at $5.00 per month.
The current interest rate is set at 24% per annum (2% per month).

6. Unpaid and overdue accounts.
Any unpaid or overdue portion of any account may be referred to a debt collection agency. Any collection costs incurred in retrieving this debt will be added to it and be payable by the debtor. This referral process will affect your credit rating.

7. The right to repossess.
The Appliance Doctor has the right to enter premises and repossess any parts not paid for in full. In the event that the debtor has onsold the goods these rights will still apply. This action may be taken instead of referral to a debt collection agency.

8. Estimates.
An estimate can be given if requested or will be given if we consider that the repair will be expensive. In the event that a repair is not proceeded with, the house call fee is still payable.

More about estimates.
An estimate is based on diagnostic tests conducted on a faulty appliance. Due to the fact that the appliance is not working correctly, it may not be possible to fully test all operating functions of the appliance. Once some parts are replaced further faults may become evident. In the event that a part that has been tested OK during the diagnostic process fails to function satisfactorily under working conditions (and this is going to make a significant difference to the final repair cost), you will be informed of this prior to the completion of the job and a revised estimate may be given.

9. Uncollected appliances.
Although most appliances are serviced in the clients' home, there are times when an appliance has to be uplifted to the workshop or a client wishes to drop it off. Due to the fact that we do not have limitless storage space, appliances will be held for a maximum of 90 days from the inspection or repair completion date (whichever occurs later). After 90 days has passed any unrepaired appliances will be disposed of. Any disposal costs will be payable by the owner along with the inspection fee / house call fee if applicable. With regard to repaired appliances, these may either be sold as is to recover any outstanding costs or the parts fitted may be removed and the appliance disposed of. Again any disposal costs will be payable by the owner along with the inspection fee / house call fee if applicable.

10. Alterations.
These terms and conditions of trade may be subject to change at any time without notice.
These terms and conditions do not affect your rights under the consumer guarantees act.
